Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. This ancient forest β over 25,000 years old β covers 321 square kilometres of tangled jungle, steep ridges, and rushing rivers in southwest Uganda. With four distinct trekking sectors β Buhoma, Rushaga, Nkuringo, and Ruhija β Bwindi offers the greatest variety of gorilla trekking experiences anywhere in the world. Each sector has a different atmosphere, difficulty level, and set of habituated gorilla families, making it possible to tailor the experience to your fitness and preference.
